What is Bleed?

Bleed is the area of your design that extends beyond the trim edge. It ensures that when the document is cut, there are no white edges if the cut is slightly off.

What is Safe Zone?

The safe zone is the inner margin where all important content (text, logos) should be placed. This prevents them from being accidentally trimmed during cutting.

Common Bleed Sizes

  • 1/8" (3mm) - Standard for most print jobs
  • 1/4" (6mm) - Large format printing
  • 1/16" (1.5mm) - Some digital printers
